The Roman service includes sacred chant as well as the demanding (and glorious) choral masterpiece, Dixit Dominus, which contains one of my favourite soprano duets of all time, De torrente in via. In addition to my (enjoyable) section lead duties in the choir, I will be joining my friend and colleague Agnes Zsigovics once more for this blissfully stunning, interweaving duet (and some other gorgeous duets too). With string orchestra.

Included in the concert is a gorgeous "Western Wind Mass" by Taverner – I will have a big role to play in this because frequent solosections are dispersed throughout. As the grand finale, we are featuring Spem in Alium, a magnificent 40-voice
motet by Thomas Tallis. Yes, there are 40 different voice parts! A definite challenge for any choir. This is David Fallis's last season as music director – so come for the pre-concert lecture and hear this man's amazing knowledge of and enthusiasm for music history.

With full Baroque orchestra and soloists, TCC honours the 300th anniversary of Buxtehude's death with one of his delightful Christmas works. And still in festive mode, we present Bach's beloved cantata 140, known as "Sleepers, Wake," and revisit favourite composers Schütz, Schein and Hassler. Join us afterwards for carol-singing and a cup of good cheer. There is a pre-concert lecture at 6:30 p.m. in the church.
As part of this program I will be singing a delightful little cantata for two sopranos by Buxtehude with Michele DeBoer (of the Toronto Consort), along with some other small solo spots, and of course singing with the choir.
